Universal Design in the Workplace
Universal Design in the Workplace takes a holistic approach to the working environment, working methods, and recruitment.
We are the entrance to the workplace of tomorrow.
A place where people and organizations can reach their full potential.
A place for new ideas, a place for more diversity – and a place for the future.
Quite simply, a better place.
What is Universal Design in the Workplace?
The objective of Universal Design in the Workplace is to create flexible organizations as well as societies where everyone’s right to be included is respected. This requires workplace innovation.
The model is based on Universal Design as defined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, but has developed into a broad approach to make sure that everyone's unique skills are valued. Universal Design in the Workplace takes a holistic approach to working environment, working methods and recruitment. This article discusses how an inclusive working life may be enforced by social innovations, in terms of new services, products, methods, organizations, etc. that aim for societal benefit and social change. Necessary for some, useful for all
If you get it right from the start, you won’t have to keep making individual adjustments. This creates opportunities for the company, which will be able to recruit from a broader source, and therefore develop better.
Think further – go far
When there’s room for everyone, it’s better for the work environment, and both workers and companies develop.
Bring more people in, get more out of them
Many groups have a hard time getting into the job market: people with disabilities, people with international backgrounds, and others. Universal Design in the Workplace is a solution to broadening recruitment.
